Glass House Mountains

Named by then Lieutenant James Cook in 1770, there are some fabulous scenic drives through the mountains, which are also popular amongst walkers and climbers due to the extensive tracks and trails.

Within the Glass House Mountains you will come across the small Glass House Mountains Township where the newly opened Information Centre will provide you with an extensive list of options on what the region has to offer.

You can also visit the four smaller national parks set within the Glass House Mountains National Park, all offering more walking trails and rock climbing.

Australia Zoo

Nestled on over 70 acres of natural bushland, Australia Zoo is home to more than 1000 native and exotic species that can’t wait to get up close and personal to you! From cuddly koalas, waddling wombats, slithering snakes and cute kangaroos, there’s always a stack of exciting wildlife to see.

Located on Steve Irwin Way in Beerwah, Australia Zoo is only 10 minutes drive from Maleny Views Cottage Resort and a fantastic day out for the whole family.

Big Kart Track

The Big Kart Track is Australia’s largest Go Kart track. The track is 1.2 kilometres in length and eight metres wide, with 50 go-karts to play. Pit your wits against big sweeping bends, challenging chicanes and super-charged straights.

You can even experience the thrill of night racing under floodlights. Open 7 days, the Big Kart Track is only 15 minutes from Maleny Views Cottage Resort.

David Linton Gallery

Renowned wood craftsmen David Linton creates beautiful timber furniture from salvaged wood.

David’s gallery showcases some of his and other craftsmen’s works, along with outstanding pieces in a variety of media by local artists.

Located in the heart of Maleny, it’s a stop on your shopping itinerary you won’t want to miss.

Sweets on Maple

Located in the centre of Maleny, you can revisit your childhood at Maleny’s old fashioned lolly shop where jars of sweets line the wall. Speciality treats from Australia and around the world offer a good range of nougats, marzipans, homemade chocolates and hampers for those that love to indulge.

Maleny Dairy

Why not see the full process from the cow to the bottle! At Maleny Dairies, the dairy and the factory are on the farm so you can see where the cows and goats are milked and how the milk is processed and bottled.

Farm tours operate most days and finish with the chance to taste the local product!

Maleny Cheese

Less than a kilometre from our door, Maleny Cheese provides a fantastic viewing experience through panoramic windows onto the cheese-making floor where their award-winning yoghurts and cheeses are made.

Open 7 days, you can complete the tour and see and taste the produce. Enjoy a delicious meal or coffee at the café.

Shopping in Montville

Close by in Montville, there are an amazing array of café’s and dining options and a wide selection of quaint shops.

Montville is a village full of local art galleries and exciting shopping spots, including art and gift galleries, timber and leather goods , handcrafted glass and jewellery, and many hand painted delights.

Walks and Parks

While hikers can walk Kondalilla Falls or Mt Tibrogargan, those of us with less time may still enjoy the many and varied walks that are close to Maleny Views Cottage Resort.

Admire the Glass House Mountains from Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve which is less than a kilometre from our resort. From there, set-off on one of the many tracks that provides the best remnants of subtropical rainforest in Australia with large trees attracting a rich variety of birds.
